What is the name of your Blog?

My World of Warcraft Blog

What is your name?

Jim

Where are you from? (include country, state and/or city)

Colorado

What is your current age or age range?

22-25

Please describe your blog

My blog is about a new person to the World of Wacraft and how I am setting my characters with alignments etc. It will also go into detail about certain quests or other issues that come along while I am playing the World of Warcraft.

Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?

I am trying to accomplish helping other beginners out, by either pointing out my mistakes or making notes of confusing parts about the World of Warcraft. As fairly new player this blog is to let my experience be known so others do not have to repeat my mistakes.

What blogging platform do you do and why?

I use Aeonity because it is Ad-free and spam free. The Administrators are great guys who are always helpful.

What do you blog the most about?

The world of warcraft currently.

What kind of blogs make you angry?

Blogs are the opinion of others. If I do not want to read about a certain topic I simply do not go to that blog. On that note I do not like spam related blogs.

Give five of your best blogging tips.

Always use keywords instead of "this" and "that". It will show the readers that you know how to actually write. Always spell correctly. I never publish a blog without having it spell checked. A simple mistake will throw people off the content. Try and use proper grammar. I know it can be hard, especially for me, but most bloggers should know basic grammar skills for easy reading. Create topics that support your blog theme. Do not create random topics on a blog for a specific topic. That is what a personal blog is for. Always use good Search Engine Optimization tactics. Do not over spam your posts with links, but always link to meaningful content which helps your content.

What are some things you would NEVER blog about?

Politics, best left to each person. Abortion, everyone has their own morals.

Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?

No, I started blogging because I wanted to help out the World of Warcraft community by providing informative guides.

How long have you been blogging?

Since December of 2003.

About how many hours per day do you spend blogging?

Less than 2 hours a day.

Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily?

No, I am not a big fan of RSS, although my blog has one I prefer to google content I want.

Do you use Digg, and why or why not?

No, it seems like a site that would provide you some information and a lot of times it is just teasing you. I do not like Digg.

Do you use Stumbleupon, and why or why not?

Used to, but not anymore. I am not a very random person.

What promotional techniques work best for you and why?

The best promotional techniques are to list in blog directories and create meaningful content that other people want to link to. Getting other people to link to you helps tremendously, and no one will link to you if you do not have meaningful content.

If you could post a blog on any blog in the world, which one would it be and why?

The question does not make sense to me. I can post a blog on my blog and that is the only blog I care to post on.

What mistakes have you made that you could warn others about?

Be careful with over linking in your blogs.

What are your top five blogging site picks and why?

Aeonity.com because it is free with friendly staff and no advertisements. Blogger.com you cannot go wrong with google. Wordpress.com I like all the modifications available. Livejournal.com kinda nice. xanga.com not really a good site, but I needed five.

Have you met anyone offline as a result of your blog?

A few people who wanted to talk to me about a company I reviewed on one of my other blogs. As for the world of warcraft blog, no.
