Please describe your blog
Taekwondo - I've been at it for nearly 10 years so the blog is somewhere to talk about my personal experience and to pass on tips on training, flexibility & technique execution I've picked up.
Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?
Hopefully help other Taekwondo practitioners with their own training, and maybe encourage some new people around the world to take it up. Not enough people excercise regularly and Taekwondo is a great way to get motivated & fit.
What do you blog the most about?
Personal experiences in lessons, at tounaments. My kids achievements (they train too!).
What kind of blogs make you angry?
Irrelvant blogs stuffed with content copied from elsewhere.
Give five of your best blogging tips.
Post often. Write honestly and get your grammar and spelling right. Incorporate Adsense - it's not making me rich, but it covers hosting & bandwidth. Try not to ramble (I'm guilty of that a lot!). Moderate comments and be aware of what the poster is asking you to link to. If it's something awful, don't allow the comment on your blog.
What are some things you would NEVER blog about?
Anything I don't feel knowledgable abuot. In particular, it's pretty awful to see people blogging about cancer, medicine, diabetes etc just to get high paying ads to appear on their blog. My son has diabetes, but I'd never blog about it.
Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?
No.
How long have you been blogging?
3 months
About how many hours per day do you spend blogging?
1 at most. Sometimes I start writing and realise what I'm writing isn't interesting even to me. If that happens, stop and come back tomorrow!
Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily?
No
Do you use Digg, and why or why not?
No. I hear it's dominated by people with multiple accounts manipulating it. Condisering adding a Digg button, but haven't yet.
Do you use Stumbleupon, and why or why not?
Just haven't got around to it yet.
What promotional techniques work best for you and why?
Link building.
If you could post a blog on any blog in the world, which one would it be and why?
Mine!
What mistakes have you made that you could warn others about?
Spending months agonising over and tweaking the design rather than actually blogging.
What are your top five blogging site picks and why?
Matt Cutts (the Google engineer) when he talks about Google. It's a bit boring when he talks about his cats though. Vannesafoxnude - she's wicked fun SEOMOZ - arrogant, witty & topical. Does slashdot count?
Have you met anyone offline as a result of your blog?
Not yet, but have promised to look out for a couple of people at tournaments. You never know!
Why do I find back kick so difficult?
Answers on a postcard to the usual address please.
