A collection of random thoughts, personal opinions, and reviews on travel and food, etc.
Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?
I just want to be a part of a community. I want to share my experiences with others and learn. I want to improve my writing skills and keep a meaningful record for family and friends.
What blogging platform do you do and why?
I use Blogger, only because I'm still fairly new at this and it's a good place to start.
What do you blog the most about?
Anythign and everything happening to me or around me on a daily basis. My interests include food, sports, travel, politics, business, etc.
What kind of blogs make you bored?
Overly technical blogs that are so niche specific that you earn a degree once you finish reading it. Also, overly liberal sites and celebrity/fashion garbage site annoy me. I like to keep it real. lol
Give five of your best blogging tips.
1. Write because you want to write - not to make money. 2. Find your voice. 3. Read other blogs. 4. Leave comments. 5. Post often.
What are some things you would NEVER blog about?
1. Anti-semitism 2. Porn 3. Overly personal information
Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?
I started that way - years ago - and failed miserably. It was so contrived, and I wasn't enjoying it. I started over again recently, and I'm loving it. I've made a whopping $.45 cents. Google owes me. Contact me to find out why. Better yet, read my blog entries:

How long have you been blogging?
On and off for years. I used to write a newsletter for my business. then I joined Blogger in 2007, but I only started again in earnest in May of 2008. Check out my blog and you'll see I've been busy.
About how many hours per day do you spend blogging?
Two or Three. Maybe more on days I have more spare time.
Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily?
I subscribe to about a dozen feeds I sincerely enjoy and appreciate.
Do you use Digg, and why or why not?
Not familiar with that application/technology - but I'm learning more and more all the time.
Do you use Stumbleupon, and why or why not?
Same.
What promotional techniques work best for you and why?
Don't really know. I've submitted to several blog directories, but other than that, I've just promoted my blog to family and friends. I also leave comments on other blogs and try to build relationships without a "hard sell."
If you could post a blog on any blog in the world, which one would it be and why?
Dooce.com - because she gets people's attention.
What mistakes have you made that you could warn others about?
Don't spend TOO much time blogging or you might end up mentally absent from your family. lol
What are your top three blogging site picks and why?
Dooce.com (see above) Rae Family Blog (good friend's private blog) Smooth Harold (because I can relate)
Have you met anyone offline as a result of your blog?
Not yet, but I anticipate that happening. It's all about community.
What's the one thing you hope people will get out of your blog?
A good laugh or a new perspective.
