Collin Jones Writing Interview

What is the name of your Blog?

Collin Jones Writing

What is your name?

Collin Jones

Where are you from? (include country, state and/or city)

Virginia Beach, VA

What is your current age or age range?

18-25

Please describe your blog

My blog is just a compilation of poetry I have written for special occasions and just for fun. This blog is 100% original poetry.

Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?

The main purpose of my blogging is to share my poems with people. I'm not trying to show off or anything, I just want people to be able to read what I think and feel if they want to.

What blogging platform do you do and why?

I use Blogger. I pretty much only use it because I fear change. My first blog was on Blogger (before Google bought Pyra Labs in '03) and it was a fairly easy platform, and I have been true to it since.

What do you blog the most about?

I definitely blog about poetry most. It's one of the few things I like to share.

What kind of blogs make you angry?

Blogs don't make me angry. Everyone has their say. I wouldn't want to stifle anyone, even if what they said was not what I believe. Blogs are a way of expressing yourself to people you otherwise wouldn't ever communicate with. If I thought a blog could potentially make me angry, I would go to a different blog.

What are some things you would NEVER blog about?

I could never blog about my life. It is way too boring. I would be first blogger to be banned from the internet if I posted all the mundane details of my life.

Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?

I don't blog for money. But I do have Google AdSense on my blog. I think so far I have made about $1.27 in 2 years.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging for... 5 year? Yeah, I think it has been 5 years now. Wow, time flies.

About how many hours per day do you spend blogging?

I try not to do it every day. I would never be off of the computer. But I probably blog around 5 hours a week, fairly sporadically.

Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily?

No, I don't.

Do you use Digg, and why or why not?

I actually just started. I added a few of my poems. Although I added them to the News category because they really don't have anything for creative writing. I just did it to see what it was all about. I have heard a lot of good things about Digg, but I have never tried it.
