Oppapalooza! Oh Yeah!

By Wilbur Corncob at 04/17/07 14:50

obnoxious email Oppapalooza! Oh Yeah!
Here I am going to steal a blog post from Pay Per Post (which I am not being paid to write about, except in some karmic manner). The post is titled "Oppapalooza!"

They sent me an obnoxious email announcing this thing that sounds like a bad time in the bathroom! The email was obnoxious because it was in html with small font sizes and stupid graphics. I'll take plain text email anytime, and its easier to read while I sit on the toilet and do my Oppapalooza!

I am pleased to announce a new promotion that will benefit Advertisers and Posties alike. [Until you read further and learn that the pricing although the change is voluntary, it is really required you follow the old rules anyway] The release that rolled out last night included one small but very important change to our pricing system as it relates to segmentation [Segment this!]. Previously when an advertiser selected a level of segmentation (PR, Alexa, Technorati or Tacks) the corresponding minimum price would increase with no ability for the advertiser to reduce their offer below the minimum price as set by our system. [The system rules]

During Oppapalooza that is no longer the case. [Well, everyone knows I spend a lot of time on the toilet so this won't be a problem] We invite advertisers to set their own price based on whatever segmentation they choose. [What a concept! Advertisers setting their own prices] Rather than dictating the price for you we will simply provide you with a suggested price. [who would have thought, the freemarket!] The absolute minimum remains $5.00 per post, but you control the offer price beyond that. [Well, we have to dictate something!] Please recognize that the suggested offer is there for a reason, if you deviate too much from the suggested offer your Opp may not fill and you may insult the Posties. [The hell with the free market. The suggestion is really a requirement in disguise.]

Just as Advertisers rank the Posties the Posties rank our advertisers. [Rank this!] If the offer is too low or the segmentation is too high you will receive low tack scores and have difficulty getting people to blog about your Opp. [And PayPerPost won't make a large enough commission]

Pbbbbbt! We got it out finally... a big nothing. People can set their own prices... but if they won't follow the rules there will be insults and low scores! hahahaha
