The website is about my journey from being a newbie and knowing absolutely nothing about Internet Marketing, to attending five seminars this summer about Internet Marketing. I had never created anything online but now I have created a number of blogs and simondodds.co.uk is about this journey
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I attended a boot camp in June 2008 and Tom Hua well known Internet Marketer was there I signed up for his program an the rest as they say is history
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The first website was called nurturing creative children http://www.brightcleverchildren.com, launched in July 2008.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The website is ab out ways to teach, entertain children as we have a small child and we found the information intesting and helpful and wanted to share it with other people.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
The information that is provided is specific to what is provided I have been through the book a number of times to draw aout exactly what it contains and put this on the website so people can see the value of the book
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To be a full time Internet Marketer deciding my own hours when I work when I don't. If I want to pick up my children from school then I can. If I want to go to the beach then I can, if I want to go to the gym then I can.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Naturally to start with I had to put in a lot of time to get things off the ground and to learn and understand lots of new information.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Spend lots more on Google ad words, employ staff to submit articles to article directories, web directories. Employ staff to put up websites and monitor the traffic and optimise for Search Engines.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes I could I would divert more of my energies to the site www.simondodds.co.uk. Post articles more often respond to feedback.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
No real unexpected costs although with Google its very easy to spend lots of money if you don't watch whats going on.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Learning about hosting, FTP, Wordpress is not too bad but you need to back up your blogs regularly I had a problem with mp3 pluggin that really messed everything up so backup before installing anything new just incase it all goes wrong (Pete Tong).
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Ezine Articles and posting to directories.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Its very enjoyables and once the traffic starts to arrive its ******* briliant
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Run for about four months keep it up for ever probably
If your thinking about Internet Marketing
Just go for it the costs are quite low and if its not working you can change it quite easily.
