Please give us a short summary of your website?
Flavourgasmic is your one stop shop for culinary adventure. We hope to bring you into our world of food, kitchen gadgets, and restaurants
What inspired you to launch your own website?
To share our wacky perspective of cooking, restaurants and kitchen gadget with an unexpecting world.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Good question, I ran a BBS in the late 80's that focused on Phreaking and D&D, does that count?
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Because someone is squating on flavorgasmic, but honestly its a name that captures several thing we like...
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Why us of course, our witty perspective, our tongue and check style and our unique take on life and the world.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Haven't gotten that far, I think our primary goal is just to produce something that people enjoy reading.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It takes a lot more time to maintain a succesful site than most people think, especially when you are providing all the content. I am trying to maintain at least 2 articles a day which along with a full time+ job is not easy to do.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would use the budget to quit my job and write full time about the incredible epicurean adventures I was having!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I would certainly do my best, that unlimited budget would help.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Just the time factor more than anything.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Keeping the content fresh and up to a certain level.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Just hitting the virtual pavement, trying to optimize my site as much as possible so the various search engines recognize my site.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It just about what I expected, it's been great to be able to write about the things I love. I've also had several people comment on things I have written which has been great.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been up for about 3 weeks now and I hope to keep it up as long as people are interested in reading it.
What's your number one goal for the website?
I would really like to see an active communtity commenting and providing feedback.
