I have lived in San Ramon, Costa Rica for 6 years and have traveled most of Costa Rica and every country in Central America. I own a small organic coffee and fruit farm, a house in the barrio and am renovating a house with a Pacific Ocean view. My blog shares my experiences, observations and feelings about my time in Costa Rica.
There seem to be so many people considering moving to San Ramon and Costa Rica that sharing my insiders info seems to have found an audience.
Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?
Mostly, to understand and express how my life has changed and opened since moving to Costa Rica. Catharsis, creativity, sharing, introspection .. The first 5 years I was here, I used to write long personal letters to 50 of my closest friends and family ... blogging opens it up to anybody who is interested. The World is Flat ..
What do you blog the most about?
I blog mostly about my life in San Ramon, cultural preservation, real estate, discoveries etc.. Also, I blog about both sides of life here. I found a lot of people had idealized ideas about living in Costa Rica and then are shocked at the reality. I have experienced life from many different sides in my years in San Ramon, Costa Rica.
What kind of blogs make you angry?
In some blogs, people get upset that new people are discovering Costa Rica and want to "raise the bridges" so no one else can come and things will not change. Life is change.
Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?
I blog for my own enjoyment and connecting to people all over the world. I also have THE Guide to San Ramon with info on restaurants, hotels, bars , cafes etc. My website Costa Rica PM has real estate and other topics. The blog works well with my other activities in Costa Rica.
How long have you been blogging?
I started my blog about 6 months ago, after writing for 5 years about my Costa Rica experience and sharing my writings with family and friends.
